Thank you for using VidTextify. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it. We keep this simple because the tool itself is simple.
VidTextify processes the YouTube source you provide so the application can retrieve public caption data, video metadata, channel context, playlist entries, and export-ready transcript output.
We also process ordinary operational information such as request timing, browser type, device information, error traces, and coarse usage patterns so the service can remain reliable and easier to debug.
When you paste a video, channel, playlist, handle, short link, mobile link, or raw video ID, VidTextify normalizes that input and requests public data needed to build the workspace.
Completed transcript responses may be cached to improve reliability and reduce repeated upstream requests. Temporary share links store the transcript package needed to reopen that shared workspace until the link expires.
VidTextify may attach video title, author, channel information, views, publish date, likes, dislikes, comment count, duration, thumbnails, and source URLs to transcript results when those fields are available.
Export settings let you choose which metadata fields appear inside generated files. The title remains part of file naming so exported transcript files stay identifiable.
The interface may use browser storage for preferences such as theme, export field selection, and workspace state. These preferences help the product feel stable between sessions and do not require an account.
We may use privacy-conscious analytics and deployment logs to understand feature health, failed transcript paths, page performance, and broad product usage.
These signals are used to maintain and improve VidTextify. They are not used to sell personal data or build unrelated advertising profiles.
VidTextify may run on deployment, storage, logging, analytics, and cache providers. Those providers process data only to operate the application infrastructure.
Public YouTube information and third-party metadata sources remain governed by their own terms and policies.
We use reasonable technical safeguards, scoped storage, and short-lived share records where possible. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed without risk, but the product is designed to avoid collecting unnecessary sensitive data.
You can avoid creating share links, clear browser storage, use private browsing, or remove optional metadata fields from exports. You can also contact us with privacy questions or deletion requests related to share records that you created.
